Job Information:

PATTISON Outdoor, Canada’s leader in digital Out of Home media, is looking for an individual to head up an Edmonton-based digital technology depot. The role will have the individual managing the inventory of LED technology for PATTISON’s extensive digital billboard sites. This will include testing, cleaning, and some repair of the technology, as well as shipping and receiving of parts. Managed as a remote extension of our central digital hardware department in Toronto, the new role in Edmonton will help service technology in the Prairies and British Columbia. PATTISON is looking for an independently-minded person, comfortable with managing their own time and helping support all aspects of digital hardware work.


What you’ll do…

  • Managing incoming and outgoing parts for PATTISON’s digital billboards
  • Diagnose, clean and sometimes repair board-level electronic components
  • Keep up to date inventory of parts
  • Configure and image media computers (linux)
  • Creation of formal documentation for newly developed processes
  • Occasional work in the field, helping trouble shoot digital networks on site.
  • Occasional travel to Western locations for digital project work. (Alberta, Sask, Manitoba, BC interior)


Who you are….

  • Great comfort with computers, digital hardware and board-level electronics. An education in board-level electronics or related experience required. Experience with safe practices around DC electricity is a must.
  • Comfort with networking, wiring, and remote management software (Teamviewer and similar)
  • Generally took things apart as a kid to figure out how they worked- this role has some MacGuyver-like requirements. Creative diagnosis and creative solutions to novel problems.
  • Strong communication skills in email, Slack and in person. Meticulous documentation skills required, including the creation of formal documentation for newly developed processes.
  • Ability to work on your own, special tasks/tickets assigned as well as self-driven daily work. This will be a ‘department of one’ in Edmonton to start but working remotely with others extensively.
  • Ability to outline previous experience in electronics maintenance, repair, or tinkering to be considered an asset.
  • Driver’s license and vehicle (milage compensated)
