Job description
Blue Canyon CPA is a growing CPA firm that is adding a new position to its Accounting team now. This role will be responsible for working with clients and helping our team and our clients on certain daily, weekly and monthly bookkeeping and reconciliation procedures.
We are seeking an experienced professional who understands accounting or bookkeeping that has the right attitude and passion to constantly improve themselves. Ideally, you will have experience in a client service role, 5 to 10 years experience in bookkeeping and accounting, are comfortable with spoken Portuguese and English.
The candidate will be self-motivated, very organized and detail oriented, with the ability to problem solve. Being able to communicate with clients and staff is essential to this position. You must be very fluent in the English language and Portuguese written and spoken due to the client facing nature of this position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- A/P (Reconciling Transactions)
- A/R (Review, Analysis and Reporting)
- Tax collection and remittance reviews (GST, PST & HST.)
- Monthly Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Expense Receipts (data entry & validation

Experience:
- Bookkeeping: 5+ years (Required)
- Accounting systems : 3+ years (Required)
- Strong Computer skills (Intermediate Excel, O365/office online Required)
- Government remittances
- Fluent in Portuguese
- Experience dealing with clients and customers
