The Ontario Principals' Council (OPC) is a non-profit corporation that serves as the voluntary professional association representing the interests of principals and vice-principals in Ontario's publicly funded school system. Currently, the OPC represents 5,400 practising school leaders in elementary and secondary schools, as well as 500 associates from within the education community. Reporting to Interim General Counsel, the Temporary Part-Time Administrative Assistant, Protective Services Team’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Streamlining processes across the Protective Services Team (PST) (consisting of two Interim General Counsel, one Legal Counsel, four Protective Services Consultants, three Intake Consultants and one Law Clerk who provide assistance to principals and vice-principals across the province) utilizing various Microsoft applications
· Maintaining the PST section of the website including uploading files, creating landing pages and maintaining a PST resources map
· Scheduling workshops for the PST using OPC’s workshop booking system and maintaining a tracker and folder with presentations
· Tracking of PST Tip Sheets, blurbs for the President’s Message and articles for OPC’s publication, The Register
· Providing administrative support to the PST including registration for conferences and continuing professional development (CPD) events; tracking CPD; taking meeting notes and offering support on Terms and Conditions matters
· Other administrative duties as assigned by the Interim General Counsel.
Required Skills and Abilities
· College diploma
· Demonstrated proficiency in the use of advanced Microsoft Office applications
· Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills and proven ability to coordinate a diverse number of projects.
The successful candidate will be required to work in the Toronto office at least three days or 22.5 hours per month as per the OPC’s 60% remote Hybrid Work Model Policy.
